** If a sigcan applicant has already demonstrated significant contribution to the ergo ecosystem in a meaningful way, a sigmanaut can propose to sponsor that applicant and fasttrack them to sigmanaut status rather than going through sigcan trial period. Many active community members may exist outside the sigmanauts program that already exemplify the values of the sigmanaut program, and for those individuals this fasttrack process makes sense as it allows them to gain access to governance and contribute to the sigmanauts quicker.
